How to find your tax bill online
• Go to the McHenry County Treasurer's website
• Enter your name and/or address
• Select account/parcel number for matching entry
• In the right-hand menu box, select "Tax Bill" to view your current tax bill

• Using your 2015 tax bill, find your Fair Cash Value (1)
• Enter the Fair Cash Value in the first box on the calculator
• Select if you qualify for the Homestead Exemption (2)
• Select if you qualify for the Elderly Homestead (Senior) Exemption (3)
• Your estimated annual tax increase will appear in the bottom box

How the tax calculator works
• Start with your Fair Cash Value (1)
• Multiply the Fair Cash Value by 1/3 to find your Equalized Assessed Value (EAV)
• Subtract $6,000 from the EAV if you qualify for the Homestead Exemption (2)
• Subtract $5,000 from the EAV if you qualify for the Elderly Homestead (Senior) Exemption (3)
• This total is your Net Taxable Amount
• Multiply the Net Taxable Amount by .002182
• The result is your estimated tax increase
